2025年11月27日，湖北省第十四届人大常委会第二十一次会议批准了《十堰市人民代表大会常务委员会关于加强南水北调中线工程水源区共同保护的决定》，并宣布于2026年3月1日起正式实施，将中线水源区保护从分区分治转向全域共治。
